Quincy Tourism Office Then & Now

Description

My exciting journey began in January, joining the City of Quincy as the new Tourism Director to build upon a robust Tourism industry. I eagerly began setting up an office, laying the groundwork for Quincy destination marketing, meeting with hospitality professionals and working with colleagues on mutual goals and initiatives. Then an uninvited visitor appeared, called COVID-19.
We are definitely in unchartered waters, learning how to adapt to a new normal while facing a community in mourning, businesses impacted, employees affected, and fears of health & safety. Moving forward I remain hopeful, optimistic and committed to the Quincy community and hospitality industry. I miss my colleagues, industry friends, networking within the community and working in the beautiful historic City Hall with stunning views of the Hancock Adams Common.
My new home office has a different stunning view but I am working daily to maintain a Quincy presence. Learning, advocating, networking via zoom and maneuvering a new normal in destination marketing. We want to provide hope to the community and potential future visitors that when it's safe to do so, we will be ready to welcome everyone with socially distancing open arms.
Okay…...my view is lacking the Hancock Adams Common, but at least there is sunshine some days.
